VERSION 7.1

CHARACTER TIER LIST

Explore Genshin Impact rankings by combat role. Each category is evaluated separately so a great support is never unfairly compared with a Main DPS.

Version 7.1Level 90C0 + Marked ConstellationsTalent Level 10Artifacts +20Accessible Weapons

Main DPS Tier List

On-field damage dealers ranked at C0 with optimized +20 artifacts, an accessible weapon and a suitable team.

Main DPS rules: rankings consider team damage, consistency, flexibility, ease of play and current Version 7.1 matchups. Signature weapons, constellations and premium refinements are excluded.

Sub DPS Tier List

Off-field and quickswap damage dealers ranked at C0 with optimized artifacts, an accessible weapon and a suitable team.

Sub DPS rules: rankings prioritize off-field damage, elemental application, uptime, reaction value and rotation cost. Pure healing, shielding and buffs are reserved for their dedicated rankings.

Support Tier List

Characters ranked at C0 by the buffs, debuffs, control, energy and defensive utility they provide to their teams.

Support rules: personal damage is secondary here. Rankings prioritize team amplification, resistance reduction, reaction enablement, crowd control, energy support, defensive comfort and the number of competitive teams improved.

Healer Tier List

Healers ranked at C0 with optimized artifacts and an accessible weapon, considering healing, uptime and team utility.

Healer rules: raw healing matters, but buffs, elemental application, team-wide recovery, interruption protection and compatibility with current Version 7.1 teams also affect each rank.

Shield Tier List

Persistent party shields ranked by raw absorption, uptime and the setup required to reach their maximum strength.

Optimized artifact rules: every character has five 5★ artifacts at +20, three shield-scaling main stats and suitable 2-piece bonuses. Substats and weapons are excluded. Characters whose shield requires a constellation carry a gold C1, C2 or C4 badge.
C

Utility before raw protection

Elemental advantage

Most elemental shields absorb damage matching their element at 250% effectiveness. This can completely change a matchup: optimized Layla reaches roughly 30,280 Cryo absorption at maximum reinforcement. Zhongli and Noelle are special: their Geo shields receive 150% absorption against every damage type, already included in the displayed values.

Not ranked with persistent shields

Temporary guardsBeidou, Candace and Yun Jin protect themselves only while holding or executing a counter.
Constellation shieldsYanfei, Beidou, Kaeya, Hydro Traveler, Sigewinne and Columbina are now included above with a visible constellation badge.
CrystallizeReaction shields are excluded because their strength depends on character level, Elemental Mastery and the reaction shard.

This ranking measures protection, not a character's total account value. Healing, buffs, damage, resistance reduction and team compatibility can make a lower-ranked shielder the better choice for a specific team.

How to choose a character

Start with the role your team needs. Pick a Main DPS if the team lacks a clear source of damage. Pick a Sub DPS when you need damage from off field. A Support adds buffs, energy or control. A Healer or shielder keeps the team safe.

Does a higher tier always deal more damage?

No. Each role has its own list. A top Support is not compared with a Main DPS. The rank also includes team value and ease of use. It is not a single damage test.

Should I replace a character I already built?

Not always. Levels, talents, weapons and artifacts matter. A finished A-tier character can help more than a new S-tier character with no gear. Check the full build before you spend resources.

How important are teams?

Teams are very important. Reactions, buffs and energy can change a character's result. Use the rank to find good options. Then open the character guide and choose allies that support the same plan.

What should a new account build first?

Finish one balanced team. Give it one main damage plan, one useful support and enough healing or shields. Build a second team when the first one can clear its normal content.

Why can ranks change?

New characters, artifacts, weapons and enemies can change team value. A new reaction or support can also help an older unit. The list is reviewed when those changes affect real teams.
