Elemental advantage

Most elemental shields absorb damage matching their element at 250% effectiveness. This can completely change a matchup: optimized Layla reaches roughly 30,280 Cryo absorption at maximum reinforcement. Zhongli and Noelle are special: their Geo shields receive 150% absorption against every damage type, already included in the displayed values.

Not ranked with persistent shields

Temporary guardsBeidou, Candace and Yun Jin protect themselves only while holding or executing a counter.
Constellation shieldsYanfei, Beidou, Kaeya, Hydro Traveler, Sigewinne and Columbina are now included above with a visible constellation badge.
CrystallizeReaction shields are excluded because their strength depends on character level, Elemental Mastery and the reaction shard.

This ranking measures protection, not a character's total account value. Healing, buffs, damage, resistance reduction and team compatibility can make a lower-ranked shielder the better choice for a specific team.
